The Basics

Lines, answers, titles and notes

A PhraseCalc document is a page of lines. Write a calculation on any line and its answer appears on the right. Change anything and every answer updates as you type.

  1. 2 + 24
  2. 8 times 972
  3. 100 / 333.33

Words that aren't part of the calculation are simply ignored, so you can write naturally. Text before a colon is a label.

  1. Coffee: 3.50 × 5“Coffee:” is a label17.5
  2. 5 apples + 3 apples8

Start a line with # for a heading, or // for a note that isn't calculated. The first line of a document is its title in the document list.

Tip: Tap an answer to copy it. A paste button appears above the keyboard so you can use it on another line.
